- 1. Allow the test cassette, specimen and/or controls to cool to room temperature (15-30°C) before testing. Allow the pouch to reach room temperature before opening. Remove the test cassette from the sealed pouch and use as soon as possible. Best results are obtained when testing is performed within one hour.
- 2. Place the test cassette on a clean and flat surface. Hold the pipette vertically and add 2 drops of serum or plasma to the sample area. Then add 1 drop of buffer at a time. Start the timer.
- 3. For venipuncture of whole blood samples Hold the pipette vertically and add 3 drops of whole blood to the sample area, then add 1 drop of buffer and start the timer.
- 4. For fingerstick whole blood specimens, use a capillary tube: Fill the capillary tube and add approximately 75 µl of fingerstick whole blood specimen to the specimen area of the test cassette. Then add 1 drop of buffer and start the timer.
- 5. Wait until the colored line(s) appear. The test result should be available after 10 minutes.
